Lord Marmoo is the main antagonist of the Kulipari: An Army of Frogs film. Leader of the scorpions, he's single-minded in his desire to bring down the veil and take the Amphibilands by force, killing all in his way (even his own troops and allies). I was the Lead Character Artist on the film, as well as the Production Designer, maintaining the art style across all departments. I did everything on this character, from concept and sculpt, to final texturing, to clothing and accessories. The scorpions in the 2D show have a nebulous design, as to whether their armor is made, or is part of their being. Here, we went with it being their actual being. Like on real life scorpions, fleshy bits in between the armor allow for it to move without overlapping plates. Though he's a ruthless villain, the design choice was to make him more handsome and slender than some of the other scorpions. He wears trophies of dead frogs he killed long ago. It was interesting in designing the skulls, as our more humanoid frogs need a more solid skull. Frog skulls are very sparce and hollow. I redesigned the scorpion heraldry also. Marmoo is based on an Emperor Scorpion.
